How to Pay the Bill

Penn Power customers have several available options to pay your bill. The available options include online payment, making payments by phone, making payments by mail and making payments in person.

Pay online: Customers can pay your Penn Power bill online by visiting https://www.firstenergycorp.com/log_in.html. The free service accepts credit card payments, debit card payments and electronic checks. You can make one-time payments or recurring payments.

Pay by phone: Customers can pay your Penn Power bill by calling 1-866-569-4770. You can pay your Penn Power bill by using a credit card or debit card. The service is free and requires your account information, payment information and customer information.

Pay in person: Customers can pay your Penn Power bill by visiting a location listed on the website. The third-party location could charge a convenience fee.

Pay by mail: Customers can pay your Penn Power bill by mailing payments to:

Automatic deduction: Customers can pay your Penn Power bill by having funds automatically deducted from your checking or savings account.

How the Penalty Fees Work

Penn Power charges customers fees, including security deposits, late payment charges and returned check fees. The amounts are added to the current balance due.

  • Security deposit – Penn Power charges customers with a less than perfect credit history a security deposit. The amount charged to customers is the average of two months worth of electricity usage.
  • Late payment – When Penn Power receive payment past the established due date, the company charges a fee equal to 2% of the unpaid balance. This amount is added to the current charges.
  • Returned check – The customer service representative did not disclose the amount of the fee associated with return checks. They did explain the amount is added to the current charges.

I Can’t Make a Payment

Penn Power offer customer several options when you can’t pay your bill. The customer service representative we spoke to explained that customers should call customer service at 1-866-569-4770 and discuss payment arrangements prior to receiving a disconnection notice. They also provided us with a list of agencies that offer assistance to customers that can’t pay your bill.
