What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your First Choice Power Bill

Before the years of deregulation, First Choice Power was known as Texas New Mexico Power. First Choice Power currently services millions of customers throughout the state. As a pillar of its community, First Choice Power gives back whenever possible by supporting civic organizations, non-profits and teachers. First Choice Power also provides services for customers that can’t pay your bill.

How to Pay the Bill

First Choice Power provides several options for customers to pay your bill, including online bill pay, pay by phone, pay by mail, in-person payments, third-party locations and automatic deductions.

Pay online: Customers can pay your First Choice Power bill online by visiting https://myaccount.firstchoicepower.com/fcpssp/index.aspx. First Choice Power does not charge a service fee for online bill payments.

Pay by phone: Customers can pay your First Choice Power bill by calling customer service at 1-866-469-2464. You have the ability to make your First Choice Power bill payment using your credit or debit card.

Pay by mail: Customers can pay your First Choice Power bill by mailing payments to:

Third-party pay stations: Customers can pay your First Choice Power bill at third-party pay stations, including, Fidelity Xpress Pay, MoneyGram and Western Union. The service fees range from $1 to $2.95.

Automatic deduction: Customers can pay your First Choice Power bill by having funds automatically deducted from your checking or savings account.

How the Penalty Fees Work

First Choice Power charges several fees on a one-time and a monthly basis. The fees include early termination, late payment and security deposits.

  • Connection – When your service is connected, First Choice Power charges a $50 fee.
  • Early termination – If you break your contract, First Choice Power charges you a $150 fee.
  • Late payment – In the event First Choice Power receives your bill payment late, you are charged 5% of the past due amount.
  • Security deposit – First Choice Power charges customers a security deposit depending on your individual credit history. A security deposit is assessed when you initiate service after termination.

I Can’t Make a Payment

First Choice Power provides several options to customers that can’t pay your bill. The available options include alternate payment plans and deferred payment plans. You will need to call customer service at 1-866-469-2464.

  • Variable rate plan
  • Fixed rate plan
