How to Pay the Bill

When customers want to pay your monthly WMECO bill, the company offers several methods, including online bill payments, automatic bill payments, independent bill payment center, in-person payment, mail payment and CheckFree bill payments.

CheckFree: Customers can pay your WMECO bill by using the online service CheckFree. You may notice a convenience fee added to your payment.

Pay in person: Customers can pay your WMECO bill in person by visiting several convenient locations throughout the state. The complete list is available on the WMECO website.

Independent pay centers: Customers can pay your WMECO bill by using independent payment center JP Morgan Chase Pay Connexions. You will notice a $2.50 convenience fee added to your payment.

How the Penalty Fees Work

Similar to other electricity companies, WMECO charges service charges and fees to your monthly billing statement or account. The typical fees include security deposits, membership fees, returned check fees, reconnection fees and service call fees. All fees are added to your monthly WMECO bill.

  • Security deposit – WMECO charges a security deposit equivalent to two months worth of service.
  • Membership – $300 per year.
  • Retuned check fee – WMECO charges customers a $7 fee when your payment is returned from your financial institution for insufficient funds.
  • Reconnection – When your service is reactivated, WMECO charges you a fee or $30 to $120.
  • Service calls – When you need service, WMECO charges a fee or $33 per employee, for 30 minutes of work. Each additional 15 minutes is billed at $14 per employee.
