What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your Waunakee Utilities Bill
Waunakee Utilities is an electric company in Waunakee, Wisconsin. Customers are used to long, harsh winters, which is why there is a Wisconsin Heating Program open for applications until May of each year. Customers should contact the service department immediately if they feel they may qualify for energy assistance. Waiting until your bill is past due increases the risk of disconnection and loss of heat.
How to Pay the Bill
Before choosing one of the available bill payment options, look at the due date on your bill. If the due date is within the next five to seven business days, do not send payment by mail. There are various factors that can slow the processing time of a mailed payment and you don’t want to have penalty fees to pay in addition to your utility bill.
Pay by mail: Address your personal check or money order payment to:
Waunakee Utilities
PO Box 70
Waunakee, WI 53597
Pay in person: Drop off your in person payments at the Waunakee office at 322 Moravian Valley Road.
Pay at a drop off location: You can drop off your payment at various locations around town, including Waunakee Village Hall, State Bank of Cross Plains and US Bank.
Pay automatically: Fill out the automatic debit application and send it in to the customer service department. Your bill will be paid from your bank account automatically each month.
Pay online: You can pay your Waunakee Utilities bill online at https://www.paymentservicenetwork.com/login.asp. You need to register for an account with the payment processor to post a payment.
Questions About Your Billing Statement or Account?
Your billing statement can be confusing. If you have questions about rates and service fees, or if you think your bill is incorrect, contact the customer service department at 849-8111. You can also view some of the fees on the Updated Fees page.
How the Penalty Fees Work
No one wants to be past due on a utility bill, especially with penalty fees increasing the total amount of the bill due.
- Reconnection Charge: $37.50 (during normal hours); $75 (after hours) – the company does not typically reconnect services after 4:14 PM Monday to Thursday or Noon on Friday.
- Late Payment Charge: 1% of the total amount due if your bill is not paid within 20 days of being printed.
