How the Penalty Fees Work
Stream Energy follows all applicable laws and regulations relating to pricing and penalty fee. The company does charge fees on a one-time and recurring basis. The fees include connection fees, disconnection fees, initial service fees, late payment fees, insufficient funds fees and security deposits.
- Connection – Stream Energy charges customers between $25 and $50 to connect to existing meters after they initiate service.
- Reconnection – Upon termination of service, Stream Energy charges you a fee of $25 to reconnect service.
- Initial service –When you begin service with Stream Energy, the company charges you a fee of $25.
- Late payment – The amount of the late fee Stream Energy charges is approximately 1.5% of the past due amount or $10, whichever amount is greater.
- Insufficient funds – In the event your financial institution returns payment for insufficient funds, Stream Energy charges you a fee of $25.
- Security deposit – The amount of the security deposit depends on the credit history of the customer. The amount of the security deposit will not exceed $150.
