How to Pay Your Bill

Pay online: You can pay your New Jersey Natural Gas bill online at https://www.njng.com/my-account/index.asp. This service requires customers register for an online account so a valid email address is needed.

Pay by ZipCheck: ZipCheck is a free service that offers automated payments. Customers can sign up for ZipCheck online after registering for an online account with New Jersey Natural Gas.

Pay by mail: Customers wishing to mail payments for their New Jersey Natural Gas bill can do so by addressing the payment to:

Pay by phone: Phone payments are processed by New Jersey Natural Gas. These payments are made at 1-800-221-0051. There is a fee associated with payment made by phone.

Pay at authorized locations: New Jersey Natural Gas offers more than 50 locations where customers can make payment in person. There is a $1 fee associated with using an authorized payment agent.

How the Penalty Fees Work

New Jersey Natural Gas reserves the right to require a security deposit when service is started. The amount of this deposit will depend on several factors. Customer service was unable to give us any information on late payment fees or other penalties and this information is not listed online.

  • Returned check fee: New Jersey Natural Gas charges a $10 fee to your account if a payment is returned for insufficient funds.

I Can’t Make a Payment

Budget plan: The budget plan allows customers to plan on a set gas bill each month while on the program. The amount of each bill is determined by previous gas usage at the residence.

HEAP: HEAP is a utility assistance program offered by the New Jersey Department of Consumer Affairs. The program is available to income-qualified applicants. Contact numbers are based on your current location.

State assistance: State assistance is available for families in need through New Jersey Shares. More information is available from NJShares.org.

Lifeline programs: The New Jersey Department of Health and Human Services offers the lifeline program to qualified applicants. Applications can be made at your local DHHS office.

LIHEAP home energy assistance program: The federal government provides assistance to customers that can’t pay your New Jersey Natural Gas bill. This program is available to qualified low-income customers.
