How to Pay Your Bill
Atlantic Electric offers various options for you to pay your bill.
Pay online: You can pay your Atlantic City Electric bill online by visiting https://www.atlanticcityelectric.com/home/billing/pay/default.aspx. You must set-up an account and sign in prior to paying your bill. You will receive an email when your bill is ready for payment.
Pay in person: Several locations are available in southern New Jersey that offers in-person payments. You can find authorized Atlantic Electric payment locations to make your payment on the Atlantic City website.
Auto-pay: You have the ability to sign up for automatic payment. You electric bill will be deducted from your savings of checking account on a recurring monthly basis. The service requires you to sign into your account and activate the service.

Pay by phone: This service allows you to pay your Atlantic Electric bill over the phone, simply call 1-800-642-3780. When you use your checking account, the service is free. There is a $6.25 charge per $600 when you use a credit card.
Budget billing: You can avoid seasonal spikes in your Atlantic Electric bill by signing up for budget billing. This service averages the previous 11 months and creates a “budget” month. The 12th month is considered a settlement month. This amount is the actual amount of energy consumed for the month.

How the Penalty Fees Work

- Security deposit – The average cost of the security deposit depends on credit history and payment history.
- Late payment – The fee for late payment is 1.5% of your total bill.
- Insufficient funds – The insufficient funds fee is accessed twice prior to Atlantic Electric charging a late payment fee. The customer service representative did not give us an exact amount of the fee.
I Can’t Make a Payment
Atlantic Electric offers several options for customers who cannot pay their electric bills on time. When we spoke the customer service representative, they provided us the information on the payment arrangements.
LIHEAP: Low income customers that need assistance paying your Atlantic Electric bill are encouraged to apply for LIHEAP. How to qualify for energy assistance with LIHEAP? You must apply at the early parts of the year, prior to the end date. The funds are limited, so we recommend customers apply as soon as possible.
Extended payment: Customers that receive their main source of income through government assistance programs can request to extend their Atlantic Electric payment date. Qualified customers will have their due dates moved from the beginning of the month to the middle of the month.
Special payment arrangement: This service is for customers that experience temporary financial hardships. The payment plan a mutual understanding designed to get your account up-to-date. You must first call customer service at 1-800-642-3780 to request a special payment agreement.
Energy assistance: This program is especially for middle to low-income Atlantic Electric customers. The services offered include:
