What To Do When You Can’t Pay Your SwepCo Bill

SwepCo is an electric company serving Northwest Arkansas and surrounding areas. As your usage amount changes throughout the year, typically more in the winter when temperatures are lower, your bill amount will change, making it more difficult to manage on time payments on a budget. If you cannot pay your bill, here is some information that will help you.

How To Pay The Bill

Swepco Bill Pay is easy. The company offers the following payment methods: in person, by phone, online, automatic bank draft, and by mail.

In person payments:Visit one of the Swepco bill pay payment center locationsnear you.

Pay by phone:Call BillMatrix at: 1-800-611-0964. There will be a fee of $2.95 for using this service. Pay by phone using credit/debit card, or bank account.

SwepCo Bill Pay online:You can make a one time payment by visiting online services at: https://www.swepco.com/account/bills/pay/OneTimePayment.aspx

Pay by mail:Send check or money order to the following address:

How The Penalty Fees Work

SwepCo charges several fees to customers, either on a monthly basis or on a non-recurring basis. The fees assessed by the company include returned check fees, connection fees, service charges or dispatch fees.

  • Returned check – $25
  • Connection – $15 during regular business hours; $55 after regular business hours
  • Service charge – $100
  • Dispatch – $10 per instance

I Can’t Make A Payment

If you find yourself unable to make your SwepCo Bill payment, contact customer service right away to discuss a payment arrangement. The sooner you call, the better off you are. They can also discuss assistance programs with you to get your bill paid in full. There is also a level payment option which averages your bill and gives you 12 equal monthly payments, based on your average energy consumption from the previous year.

LIHEAP: The US government gives money to all states for the LIHEAP Home Energy Assistance Program. LIHEAP takes applications from low-income individuals and families for energy bill support. You must apply every year for funding.
