What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your Care Credit Bill

Care Credit is a healthcare credit card that helps consumers pay for medical procedures. Care Credit can be used for Lasik, Vision, Cosmetic, Oral, Veterinary, Hearing and other situations where medical insurance is not available or does not cover 100% of the cost. Now all providers accept Care Credit, so ask your provider before scheduling an appointment.

Before using your Care Credit card for medical expenses, talk with your doctor about the payment plan options offered by the office. Some offices offer a no APR payment plan for 6, 12, 18 or 24 months based on the purchase price for your procedure.

Questions About Your Billing Statement or Account?

At times healthcare plans are not upfront when fees are concerned. You may notice fee one month and not the next. If you notice these types of hidden fees, we suggest you visit the Credit Care FAQs. If you do not see the information you are looking for in the FAQs, contact customer service at 1-866-893-7864.

How Penalty Fees Work

Care Credit offers two interest plans. The type of plan offered for your medical situation is determined by the office performing the procedure, not Care Credit. Ask about special interest rates or promotions before scheduling an appointment.

  • Promotional APR: 14.90%
  • Purchase APR: 26.99%
  • Penalty APR: 29.99%

If you are currently being billed under a promotional offer, making a late payment reverts the account to normal status and all accumulated interest charges will be added to your total balance due. Furthermore, if you make late payments in the future, your APR may be raised from 26.99% to 29.99%.

I Can’t Make a Payment

Care Credit is willing to work with you to make sure your account stays current. Contact customer service as soon as you know you will not be able to pay on-time. It is VERY important to contact customer service before your payment is due. If your payment is late, ALL accrued interest charges will be added to your balance, making it harder to pay off. Customer service is available at 1-866-893-7864.

Will They Work With Me to Pay My Bill?

Credit card companies are not well known for bending when it comes to credit payments, but Care Credit claims to have payment options available. Remember, you signed a credit contract and you will pay interest on your balance.
