Change Sprint Plan Minutes

Sprint provides mobile phone customers with talk, text and access to nationwide 4G data plans on both contract and none contract bases. It appears there are only two contract plans available from the company as of late 2013 – both with unlimited talk and text and the option of unlimited data.

About Your Sprint Plan

Sprint makes it easy to change Sprint plan minutes both online after you log in to your account [+]. Customers can also choose to makes changes at a local Sprint store [+]. Your Sprint account may require payment before making a plan change as some mobile phone companies will not allow customers to make changes to an account if payment is due.

Plans Available from Sprint

When it comes time to change Sprint plan minutes, customers want options, but Sprint doesn’t offer many options for the contract, no-contract or pay-as-you-go customer.

Contract Plans: There are contract options with Sprint – All-In or My Unlimited [+].

  • All-In: For $110 a month per line you receive unlimited talk, text and data. The plan also comes with 5GB of data for hotspot use per month.
  • My Unlimited: Designed for multiple lines, unlimited talk and text is available for up to 10 lines. The first three lines are $50, $40 and $30 per month, respectively. Each additional line is $20 per month. All lines must purchase a data plan at $20 for 1GB or $30 for unlimited if a smartphone is chosen. Optional data is available for $10 a month if you choose a basic plan.

Prepaid Plans: Sprint offers four prepaid plans that double as pay-as-you-go plans if you go over the allotted minutes allowed on the account [+].

  • 500 Minutes: Customers pay $35 a month for 500 minutes, unlimited messaging and unlimited data on basic phones. Each additional minute is 10 cents.
  • Unlimited Basic: For $50 a month customers receive unlimited talk, text and data for basic phones.
  • Unlimited Talk Smartphones: The $45 smartphone plan allows the customer to talk and text as much as they’d like, but data connections are blocked. No data is included.
  • Unlimited Smartphone: The $60 smartphone plan gives users unlimited talk, text and data each month.

PayAsYouGo Plans: There are no official pay-as-you-go plans with Sprint, but if you change Sprint plan minutes to the no-contract 500-minute plan, you will pay 10 cents per minute for each minute over the 500-minute limit.
