What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your Optimum Bill
Optimum is a cable company offering television, phone and Internet to customers in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. Customers can purchase individual services or bundles to reduce monthly fees when purchasing more than one service from Optimum.
How to Pay a Bill
Optimum customers can make payments by phone, mail, in person and online. Some payment methods are faster than others. Customers with a past due balance should contact customer service or visit a local Optimum store to make payment.

Pay by phone: Customer service is available to take a payment by phone 24 hours a day. Questions About Your Billing Statement or Account?
Do you have questions about your Optimum billing statement or account that were not covered in your initial contract? We suggest you visit the Optimum customer care FAQs. You also have the ability to receive additional information from customer service by calling 1-877-273-7626.
How the Penalty Fees Work
Optimum will charge consumers late payment fees if they do not remit payment by the due date listed on the bill. It is best to call the local customer service number listed in the payment section of this article for more information on fees and possible payment plans. Other fees assessed by Optimum may include:
- Returned check free
- Security deposit
I Can’t Make a Payment
Optimum does not discuss payment options if a customer is having trouble paying a cable bill. In some states, a partial payment will be applied to the telephone bill first because that service is considered more important than cable or Internet services. There is likely a payment plan option with Optimum. It is always best to contact customer service as soon as you realize you are financially unable to make payment in full.
