How To Pay The Bill
Yankee Gas Bill Pay is possible through multiple options including: single bank draft, recurring bank draft, credit/debit card, pay in person, and pay by mail.
Automatic Bank Draft: Login to your account and set it up accordingly for either a one time draft or a recurring draft.

This service is provided through third party J.P. Morgan Chase, and is available for MasterCard users, at a charge of $2.50 per transaction up to $500, and an additional $2.50 for payments above $501, for every $500 thereafter.

How The Penalty Fees Work
Yankee Gas charges several fees to customers on a one-time and a recurring basis. The fees assessed include returned check fees, late payment fees and early termination fees.
- Returned check – In the event your Yankee Gas bill payment is returned from your financial institution, the company charges you a $20 fee.
- Late payment – Payment received past the due date are charged a fee equal to 1% of the past due amount. The past due amount is subsequently added to your current balance.
- Early Termination – Since you have to enter into a contract with Yankee Gas, you are charged a $50 fee if you decide to break the contract.
I Can’t Make A Payment
Yankee Gas offers several options for customer that can’t pay your monthly bill. The available options are based upon the income levels of the household. The energy assistance programs include:
- Winter Protection Plan: During the months of November through May, qualified low-income customers will not have your Yankee Gas service terminated when enrolled in the Winter Protection Plan. To qualify for this service, contact customer service at 1-800-438-2278.
- Matching Payment Program: This service is available for low-income customers. You will call customer service at 1-800-438-2278 to qualify. Customers are given the opportunity to pay past due balances with the chance that the amount could potentially be forgiven.
- Community Action Agencies: Customers that do not qualify for Yankee Gas assistance programs have the ability to seek help from local Community Action Agencies. The complete list of agencies is available on the website.
