What To Do When You Can’t Pay Your Walmart Bill
As one of the nation’s largest retailers, Walmart offers customers a choice of the Walmart Discover card or the Walmart credit card, each of which offers benefits and rewards for the holder. The Walmart Discover card can be used at any store that accepts Discover and earns up to 1% cash back on purchases. Actual reward amounts vary depending on total spending during a calendar year. Both the Walmart Discover card and the Walmart credit card require no annual fee and offer $0 fraud liability.
All Walmart Discover card and credit card holders will also receive the following perks:
- 3, 5, or 10 cents off a gas purchase made at a participating Walmart gas station
- Free monthly FICO score for enrolling to receive electronic statements online
All Walmart cards are issued by GE Bank. For this reason, the Walmart Discover card may not earn the same rewards or benefits offered by other Discover cards.
How to Pay the Bill

Online Payments

You can also make an online payment through CheckFree if you have an account there.
In-Store Payments
Customers may make a payment at any Walmart or Sam’s Club store. You must be a Sam’s Club member in order to make a payment at Sam’s Club.

How the Penalty Fees Work
An APR of 22.90% will be charged for balances not paid in full by the payment due date for any Walmart credit card. Balance transfers made to the Walmart Discover card will be charged an APR of 22.90%, and cash advances will be charged a 25.90% APR.
If you are late making your payment, you will be charged a late payment fee of up to $35
I Can’t Make a Payment
We attempted to obtain an official statement from Walmart about how they handle missed credit card payments, but were unable to do so. However, several consumer experience websites offered posts from customers who stated that they received calls from a collection agency after missing a single Walmart credit card payment or that their credit limit was lowered after a late payment.
