How to Pay the Bill

Pacific Gas & Electric wants customers to contribute to a cleaner environment, so they offer eBill services, including online bill pay.

If you are a new online user you’ll need to register for an account before making your payment.

Pay with your smartphone: If you have an Apple, Android or Blackberry phone, you can download an application to pay your bill from your smartphone. There is a $1.45 fee charged for each payment. If you make a payment with your smartphone before 5 p.m. Pacific time, your payment is credited the same day.

Pay by phone: You can process your payment by phone at 1-866-735-7742. You will need your payment method (checking account, credit card or debit card) and your account number to make your payment. There is a fee of $1.45 for each payment.

How the Penalty Fees Work

  • Returned check charge: $9 per returned payment; added to the customer bill.
  • Field collection charge: $10 if a field representative comes to the billing address to collect payment. An additional $10 may be charged if service is disconnected.
