OxiTrim’s marketing leans heavily on the phrase “78,000 happy customers” as proof its formula works. That raised an obvious question for us: if there really are that many happy customers, why does the official product page show just a single customer review? That, along with questions about bovine-sourced ingredients and a claim of “4x more weight loss,” was enough to get our research team digging.

We started by pulling every product label, looking past the marketing on the official website, and examining each ingredient individually — what it is, where it comes from, and how it actually affects the body.
What Is OxiTrim?
OxiTrim, made by AS Research Labs, is marketed as a “non-stimulant” weight-loss supplement. The company points to at least one independent study as evidence it works, offering a download link to the study via Dropbox rather than a direct link to the journal it was published in.
After reviewing that study, our researchers noticed something familiar — it actually examined the combination of two ingredients sold under the trade name MeraTrim, not OxiTrim itself. Worth noting: OxiTrim is a dietary supplement, not an FDA-approved weight-loss drug.
The underlying MeraTrim research is genuinely more substantial. In one study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food, participants received either 400mg of the herbal blend twice daily or a placebo, alongside a 2,000-calorie daily diet and 30 minutes of walking five days a week, with body weight reduction as the primary outcome. Lipids in Health and Disease concluded that “Meratrim is well-tolerated and is an effective ingredient for weight management in healthy overweight subjects,” while the Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences noted that while the sphaeranthus indicus and garcinia mangostana combination may promote weight loss, further human research is still warranted.
AS Research Labs holds an “A-” BBB rating and offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. The company’s broader product lineup includes Prostadyne, Infinite T, Pre-Pro Elite Flora, Synovia, Memoxcel, and several other supplements.

OxiTrim+ Ingredients
OxiTrim’s formula is entirely plant-based. Two ingredients, combined, account for essentially all of the clinical support behind the product; the rest aren’t useless, but they’re considerably less studied. The full list includes vitamin D3, sphaeranthus indicus, mangosteen, and ashwagandha.
Does OxiTrim+ Work?
Vitamin D — The European Journal of Nutrition links vitamin D levels directly to obesity, though a fixed dose (as found in most supplements) may not work equally well for everyone, since ideal intake depends on individual weight and age.
MeraTrim — This branded combination of sphaeranthus indicus and mangosteen carries the strongest evidence in the formula, with multiple clinical studies showing reductions in waist and hip circumference beyond what placebo groups achieved, according to Lipids in Health and Disease.
Update: As of 2020, OxiTrim’s original formula is no longer sold on the official site, and the current OxiTrim+ version has dropped turmeric and Bioperine from the ingredient list.
Turmeric (formerly included) — Shows some promise for weight-loss support, though most active research on turmeric focuses on heart and bone health rather than weight, according to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health.
Bioperine (formerly included) — A black pepper extract that doesn’t directly affect weight but may help improve nutrient absorption, per Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition.
OxiTrim Claims
AS Research Labs doesn’t hold back on label claims, listing weight loss, decreased waist size, and improved metabolism among the benefits. It’s worth remembering these claims trace back to individual ingredients rather than clinical testing of OxiTrim itself. The official product description states the ingredients “helped participants in the study lose almost 4x the amount of weight as those taking a placebo” — but that referenced study is the same MeraTrim research discussed above, not a study of OxiTrim specifically. Any supplement containing a comparable dose of MeraTrim could make the same claim, provided it’s paired with genuine diet and exercise changes.
OxiTrim Benefits
The core benefit case for OxiTrim really comes down to its MeraTrim content — sphaeranthus indicus and garcinia mangostana (distinct from garcinia cambogia) — which has legitimate human and animal research behind it. That said, since this same combination could be added to virtually any supplement with similar marketing claims, we’re not fully convinced OxiTrim itself is what drives results, even though we do like MeraTrim as an ingredient.
Possible OxiTrim Side Effects
Based on the ingredient list, any side effects appear to be highly individual and not strongly tied to this particular formula.
Where Can I Buy OxiTrim?
OxiTrim sells for $59.95 on the official AS Research Labs website, dropping to $53.96 with an auto-ship subscription, or available through four payments of $14.99. Buying three or more bottles saves $10 per bottle. We didn’t find it listed on Amazon, eBay, or other third-party retailers.
How to Take OxiTrim
One capsule before breakfast and one before lunch, never exceeding two capsules in 24 hours.
OxiTrim Pros and Cons
Pros: Stimulant-free, no synthetic chemicals, entirely plant-based, and contains MeraTrim.
Cons: Short on genuinely effective ingredients overall, and some marketing claims stretch the underlying research further than it actually supports.
The Bottom Line on OxiTrim
We’re not fully sold on OxiTrim, but we’re not dismissive of it either. MeraTrim is a legitimate ingredient that can support weight-loss results when paired with real dietary and activity changes. Turmeric and black pepper, while present in earlier formulations, don’t carry a significant enough effect on weight to be considered true weight-loss ingredients on their own. As with most supplements built around a single strong ingredient, results depend heavily on the effort put in alongside it.
