How the Penalty Fees Work

- Late payment fee: 5% of the total past due balance.
- Termination and delinquent charges: When an account is seriously past due, KCMO may charge additional termination and delinquent fees.

This program is not available to everyone, so if you are having trouble making your payment on-time, it is best to contact customer service immediately for payment arrangements. - Kansas City Water Services Customer Assistance Program: Customers should contact the help hotline at 2-1-1 for more information on this program. Customers must meet income guidelines and have an income at or below 185% of the federal poverty limit. The maximum benefit from this program is $500. In order to receive the benefit, customers must have made a personal payment within the last 90 days.
