What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your Intermountain Gas Bill

Intermountain Gas is a gas company servicing communities, towns and cities in and around Boise, Idaho.

How to Pay the Bill

Pay by mail: Customers can send checks or money orders by mail using the envelope included with your bill. If you’ve lost the bill envelope, you can address your payment to:

Pay by phone: Payments by phone are accepted locally at 377-6840. If you live outside the Boise area, call 1-800-548-3679. You will need your account number and the last four digits of your social security number to make a phone payment. Customer service is available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Pay online: Customers can sign up for online eBills and make payments through the ePayment center. You can pay your Intermountain Gas bill online at https://www.intgas.com/customer/account/view.action.

Pay with Bill Matrix or CheckFree: Bill Matrix and CheckFree are third-party payment processors working with Intermountain Gas. There may be a service fee assessed for using these outside payment processors.

Pay at Western Union: Visit any local Western Union center to pay your Intermountain Gas bill. There may be a fee associated with Western Union bill pay.

Questions About Your Billing Statement or Account?

If you have questions about the fees listed on your billing statement contact customer service at 1-800-548-3769. The back of your customer bill lists returned check fees, service charges and late payment fees.

How the Penalty Fees Work

Penalty fees are assessed to your Intermountain Gas bill if you don’t pay the bill by the due date. Some of these fees can be avoided by contacting customer service and placing your bill on a payment plan.

  • Late payment fee: Charged as 1% of the past due amount per month. If a past due amount rolls over, you will be charged the fee again the following month.
  • Returned payment fee: If your credit card, debit card, personal check or other form of payment is returned for insufficient funds, your account will be charged a $20 returned payment fee.

I Can’t Make a Payment

If you can’t make a payment, you need to contact customer service at 1-800-548-3769. A customer service agent will discuss payment arrangements and payment extensions.

If you gas services provide energy for primary heating or cooling, you could be eligible for the LIHEAP program. LIHEAP is a federal, low-income program that requires customers apply for benefits and prove income before receiving those benefits.
