How the Penalty Fees Work
Harris Bank charges penalty fees for overdrawn accounts and stopped payments.
- Overdraft fee: $32 per presented payment. Harris Bank will not charge the fee if the payment results in an overdraft of less than $5. A maximum of four charges will be assessed per day.
- NSF fee: $32 per returned payment. A maximum of four payments will be charged per day. This fee is not applicable if the customer is denied an ATM or during a point of sale purchase.
- Consecutive overdraft fee: $5 per day the account stays overdrawn.
- Returned deposit: $7.50 per returned deposit. The customer may have to pay NSF or overdraft fees when the deposit amount is taken out of the account.
