How the Penalty Fees Work
Penalty fees are charged on accounts with past due balances. Customers also pay certain penalty fees during the disconnect process. Grand Prairie Water will send a representative to your home address to request payment if your account is facing disconnection.
- Security deposit: Grand Prairie Water will charge a security deposit for new service. If the customer makes all payments on-time for 18 months, the deposit will be credited to the water account on the 19th month. A credit will appear on the next billing cycle and may cover one or more months of water service.
- Service activation fee: $25
- In-person collection fee: $20
- Disconnect fee (non-payment): $40
- Locked out fee (non-payment): $50
