What To Do When You Can’t Pay Your Erie Waterworks Bill

How The Penalty Fees Work

Erie Waterworks charges the following penalty fees to its customers:

  • Non Sufficient Funds (NSF) or Returned Check Fee: $20. This is charged when a check bounces or a payment is returned by the bank.
  • Posting Fee for Delinquency Notice:: $20. This is charged when an agent has to visit your home to post a tag on your door to notify you of delinquency.
  • Service Termination for Non Payment: $25. This is charged when your service is shut off because you are late paying your bill.
  • Service Reconnection as a result of delinquency: $25. This is charged when you are no longer delinquent and your service needs to be restored.

I Can’t Make A Payment

If you cannot, for any reason, make your Erie Waterworks payment on time, contact customer service as soon as possible to determine whether or not you will be able to keep your services on while working out a payment arrangement. They may be able to tell you about some local assistance programs designed to help you pay your bill if you are unable to do so yourself for financial hardship reasons.
