What To Do When You Can’t Pay Your Colorado Springs Utilities Bill

How To Pay The Bill

Colorado Springs Utilities has several different payment options including: auto pay, budget billing, online payments, phone payments, kiosk payments, in person payments, drop box, and U.S. mail payments.

To pay your bill with AutoPay: Download the enrollment form and either mail to:

or fax to: 719-668-8154 You will need to attach a voided check or savings deposit slip. You can combine this with Budget Billing to have the same amount of money withdrawn every month on the due date.

To enroll in Budget Billing: Call customer service at 800-238-5434. A customer service agent will provide you with the amount you will be expected to pay based on previous usage.

To make your payment to Colorado Springs Utilities online: You can make your payment online through your bank, or through Western Union SpeedPay at: https://paynow7.speedpay.com/ColoradoSprings/index.asp. Most banks offer this service for free, but you will need to check your institution before using this method. Western Union will charge a convenience fee for this service, but they determine the fee. To make your payment by phone: Call Western Union SpeedPay at 1-866-611-2261.

To make your payment at a kiosk: Visit one of the kiosks at these addresses to pay with your credit or debit card.

To make your payment in person: Visit the customer service center at 111 S. Cascade Ave. between 8 am to 5pm Monday through Friday. You can also pay at one of these payment locations through Western Union SpeedPay, for $1.50 per transaction.

To make your payment at a drop box: Visit this drop box locator to find the one nearest you.

How The Penalty Fees Work

There is not a late fee for payments made past the due date, at the time of this writing. Generally speaking, there are no deposits required for service, and no fees to start service. However, the following fees are charged:

  • Field Collection Fee: $20. Charged when an agent has to come to your home to get payment.
  • Service restoration fee: (during business hours): $30.
  • Service restoration fee: (after business hours): $40.

They may be able to work out a payment arrangement with you to avoid service interruption. They will also be able to point you in the direction of various assistance programs you may qualify for.
