What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your Cleveland Public Power Bill

The Cleveland Public Power electric company provides residential and business service. The official website is a portal for customers who need account information and want to make payments online. Cleveland Public Power also publishes information on green energy, energy rebates and incentive rates.

How to Pay the Bill

Cleveland Public Power offers customers three main payment options: online, mail and in person. Soon the company will offer payments by phone, but this service is not currently available.

Pay online: You need your account number, a valid email address and a credit card, debit card or bank account to pay your Cleveland Public Power bill online at https://secure3.i-doxs.net/cpp/OneTime_Add.asp.

Pay by mail: Customers can send mail payments in the envelope that came with the bill or they can address payment to the following address. All payments should include the account number and be made out to Cleveland Public Power.

Pay in person: Cleveland Public Power offers one in person payment location for customers who want to drop off payment. The payment center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. The office is also open from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday’s but money orders are the only form of payment accepted on Saturday.

How the Penalty Fees Work

Cleveland Public Power lists several penalty fees associated with non-payment.

  • Reconnect after disconnect: $8
  • Collect payment fee: $5
  • Late payment fee: 1% of the past due balance

I Can’t Make a Payment

If you can’t pay your Cleveland Public Power bill you can’t avoid collection calls. Call 1-216-664-3922 or 1-216-664-4600 to talk with a customer service representative about a payment plan or extended due date. The company does offer a payment plan to prevent service disconnection.

LIHEAP: The LIHEAP Home Energy Assistance Program is available to low-income individuals and families who need help paying heating and cooling costs. You must contact LIHEAP or an office of the Department of Human Services to apply. Be prepared to bring proof of income to your appointment.
