How the Penalty Fees Work
The City of Raleigh charges customers a variety of fees on a monthly and as needed basis. The fees include insufficient fees, service charges and reconnection.
- Late payment – When the City of Raleigh receives your bill payment past the due date, they charge the greater amount of 1.5% of the past due amount or $5.
- Security deposit – The City of Raleigh charges customers a security deposit of $50 for all utility services.
- Insufficient funds – When payments return from your financial institution for insufficient funds, the City of Raleigh charges you a $25 fee.
- Service charges – In the event you need a service technician at your residence, the City of Raleigh charges your $50 for the first trip and $100 for subsequent trips.
- Connection – When service is initiated with the City of Raleigh, they charge you a $75 fee.
I Can’t Make a Payment
