What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your City of Phoenix Bill

As the fifth largest city in the United States, Phoenix, AZ has a population of more than 1.5 million. The services offered by the City of Phoenix include water, sewer and wastewater. More than 400,000 customers benefit from services provided by the City of Phoenix.

How to Pay the Bill

The City of Phoenix offers several methods for you to pay your monthly bill. You can pay your City of Phoenix bill online, with an automatic deduction, pay in person, pay at authorized pay stations, pay at Chase Bank, pay by mail and pay by phone.

Pay online: Customers can pay your City of Phoenix bill online by visiting https://jsslprd.phoenix.gov/waterpayments/app/add.phx;jsessionid=a61c7cb8162d002a61d7a110fd7a. You have the ability to use your credit card or debit card. There is no convenience fee associated with online bill payments.

Automatic deduction: Automatic deductions are associated with your bank account. Contact the customer service department for the City of Phoenix to enroll in automatic deducations.

Pay in person: In person payments are accepted at:

Chase Bank: Local branches of Chase Bank accept payments for the City of Phoenix water and other services.

Pay by phone: Customer service is available at 1-602-262-6251 for customers who wish to make payments over the phone.

How the Penalty Fees Work

The City of Phoenix did not disclose all of the fees and service charges, but did disclose the following charges:

Service charge – The fee is based upon the size of your meter and ranges from $4.36 to $24.60.

Volume charge – The fee is based upon the amount of water you use on a monthly basis and ranges from $2.44 to $3.77.

Sewer – The sewer fee is $34.25 per month.

I Can’t Make a Payment

When we spoke to the customer service representative, they explained that the City of Phoenix offers assistance to customers that can’t pay your bill. You will need to call customer service at 1-602-262-6251. The available assistance programs include:

  • Payment arrangements
  • Payment assistance due to income loss
  • Payment assistance due to financial crisis
