What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your City of Midwest City Bill

The City of Midwest City is located in Oklahoma. The city supplies water, sewer and trash services to residents. In addition to regular trash pickup, the city allows residents to drop off trash at the local Refuse Center four times every year at no charge. Customers are given 25 days to pay utility bills before a service disconnect fee is added to the account.

How the Penalty Fees Work

Customers are charged service fees if their account reaches disconnect status, even if service is never disconnected.

  • Cut-off fee: If you don’t pay your bill within 25 days of billing, you will be charged a $25 cut-off fee. If you make a payment on the 26th day, this fee remains despite the fact that service is not interrupted.
  • Tampering fee: If you tamper with the lock on your meter, you’ll be charged a $100 tampering fee.
  • Extra deposit: If your account enters cut-off status more than four times in any 12-month period, you will be required to pay a $50 extra deposit.
