The City of Longmont provides several options for customers to pay your monthly bill. The available options include online bill payment, phone bill payment and in-person bill payment. You have the ability to pay using your credit card, debit card, check, cash, money order or check. You can also have your payment deducted from your checking or savings account.

How the Penalty Fees Work

The City of Longmont charges several fees that are assessed to your monthly billing statement or account. The one-time security deposit is refunded when you decide to termination your utilities contract.

Security deposit – You will need to pay a security deposit of $100 if you do not own you home and want service.

Returned checks – When you payment is returned by your financial institution, the City of Longmont charges a $15 fee.

When we communicated with a customer service representative, they explained that the City of Longmont offers a limited amount of assistance to customers that can’t pay your bill. The services include:

  • Payment arrangements – If you are facing a financial crisis, call customer service immediately at 303-776-6050. A representative will work with you to set-up a payment arrangement that fits your monthly budget.
  • LIHEAP – This federally funded program assist qualified low income customers pay your utilities bill. You will need to contact a customer service representative or the National Energy Assistance Referral Project (NEAR) at 1-866-674-6327 to see if you qualify for assistance.
  • Longmont C.O.P.E. – This service provides assistance to customers in financial distress. All of the funds come from donations of other customers.
