Change AT&T Plan Minutes
AT&T is a mobile phone, Internet, home phone and television company offering customers a one-stop shop for everything entertainment. Wireless plans require customers sign a one or two year contract for service, in most cases, but changing AT&T plan minutes does not require the customer wait until the end of the service contract.
About Your AT&T Plan
When you first start service with AT&T you sign up for a plan to cover talk, text and data. There are limitations to the plan you can choose. For instance, smartphone customers must choose a plan with data coverage for smartphones, which will cost more than data plans for basic phones. At any time during your AT&T contract, you can change AT&T plan minutes as long as the plan change falls within the basic rule of maintain a plan to meet your device requirements.
To change AT&T plan minutes, log in to your account on AT&T.com. Click the I Want To link and choose Manage My Plan and Services then Change My Plan [+]. You can also click the Change Plan button next to the name of your current plan. You will be shown the details of your current plan and the plans available to upgrade or downgrade your account. When you change AT&T plan minutes, all rollover minutes are erased.
Plans Available from AT&T
Contract Plans: AT&T specializes in contract plans. New customers must choose a Mobile Share plan that comes with unlimited talk and text with shared data. Older AT&T customers who started service prior to Mobile Share, are grandfathered into the unlimited data plans previously available to AT&T customers [+]. Current plans include:
- 300MB: $20 per month plus $50 for each smartphone or $30 for each basic phone.
- 1GB: $40 per month plus $45 for each smartphone or $30 for each basic phone.
- 2GB: $50 per month plus $45 for each smartphone or $30 for each basic phone.
- 4GB: $70 per month plus $40 for each smartphone or $30 for each basic phone.
- 6GB: $90 per month plus $35 for each smartphone or $30 for each basic phone.
- 10GB: $120 per month plus $30 for each smartphone or basic phone.
- 15GB: $160 per month plus $30 for each smartphone or basic phone.
- 20GB: $200 per month plus $30 for each smartphone or basic phone.
- 30GB: $300 per month plus $30 for each smartphone or basic phone.
- 40GB: $400 per month plus $30 for each smartphone or basic phone.
- 50GB: $500 per month plus $30 for each smartphone or basic phone.
Prepaid Plans: AT&T offers GoPhones for customers who wish to prepay for cellular phone service or mobile connections on a no-contract basis. Prepaid plans are available for smartphones, basic phones and mobile hotspots [+].
PayAsYouGo Plans: Under the AT&T GoPhone plans there is one pay-as-you-go plan that charges customers on a per use basis. All calls are charged at 10 cents per minute. Texting is available for 20 cents per message and data costs 1 cent per 5KB.
