What To Do When You Can’t Pay Your Amazon.com Bill

As the world’s largest online retailer, Amazon.com offers several credit card programs that give customers access to some great rewards and promotions through their point system. With the Amazon.com store card, cardholders can expect to get instant credit, pay no annual fee, and receive special financing offers on things like HDTVs, computers, cameras, and more. Amazon.com offers instant credit when applying online. They also waive any annual fee. Some other incentives that they offer on their store card include:

  • 6 month financing on any purchase totaling $149 or more
  • 12 month financing on any purchase totaling $599 or more
  • 24 month financing on select Amazon sold items

How To Pay The Bill

Chase Bank holds the credit loans on all the cards but the Amazon.com store card. This credit card is held by GE Money and can only be paid online.

Pay online:
You can pay your Amazon.com store card online by visiting Amazon’s credit bill pay center here: http://www.gemoney.com/amazon . Card holders will then be billed monthly, and you will be offered the option to pay your entire bill off every month, or you can keep a balance on the account.

Customer Service:
If you have a question regarding a specific charge or special financing promotions, you can get in touch with GE Money’s credit department at (866) 634-8379 for automated service, 24/7, or (866) 712-3176 for live customer service.

Amazon Bill: Questions About Your Billing Statement or Account?

Amazon offers a credit card to customers at check-out. The credit card comes with monetary rewards, but there are also fees associated with Amazon credit. For a complete list of fees, customers can read the Terms and Conditions of the Amazon credit card. Additional information may be available at 1-888-868-8618.

How the Penalty Fees Work

Although Amazon.com does not charge an annual fee, as of August 1, 2011, the variable standard purchase APR is 25.99%. The minimum interest charge is $1.50. Keep in mind the APR can be higher, depending on the credit history of the cardholder.

The charge for a balance transfer is 3%, and late payments will be penalized either $15 or $39 depending on the balance held.

Should a cardholder exceed their credit limit, they will be charged a $39 over-the-limit penalty.

I Can’t Make A Payment

We attempted to contact Amazon.com by phone, but finding their “contact us” or customer service phone number is almost impossible on their website. We had to find their contact information on an outside webpage set up by a disgruntled former customer at www.clicheideas.com. Once the information was found, the hold time was short, and the pleasant English-speaking gentleman directed us quickly to GE Capital Money (866) 712-3176, who after another short hold directed us to GE Capital community affairs (203) 840-6420, who was unable to answer their phone and would only accept emailed messages sent to russell.wilkerson@ge.com.

Will They Work With Me To Pay My Bill?

Currently we have no experience with Amazon.com/GE Money in paying off credit card debt. If you have experience working with them, let us know. Did you find them to be helpful? Did they work with you in designing a payment plan? Share your experiences and help other consumers get out of Amazon.com debt!

Overall, amazon bill remains worth understanding before you decide.
