How to Pay the Bill
ComEd offers the following services to pay your bill:
Pay online: Customers can pay your ComEd bill online by visiting https://mycheckfree.com/br/wps?rq=bfquickenroll&esc=7174096&sp=10001. This service is provided by MyCheckFree. You account is assessed a $3.50 convenience fee.
Automatic draft: Customers can schedule your bill payment and avoid late payment fees by having the funds deducted from your bank account.
Pay by phone: call 1-800-588-9477 to pay by phone. Your account is assessed a $3.50 convenience fee when using this service.
Payment center: Visit one of several ComEd payment centers to make a payment in-person.
Pay by mail: Send you ComEd payment to the following location:

How the Penalty Fees Work
You may notice the following fees ComEd charges on a monthly, one-time or non-recurring basis.
- Late payment – 1.5% of your past due balance
- Returned check – $15
- Security deposit – based upon the credit history of the customer
I Can’t Make a Payment
When faced with a financial hardship, you need to have trust that ComEd will provide necessary assistance. The following programs and services are available:
- Payment arrangement – The company allows customers to reschedule the due date of your bill payment. The maximum amount of days your payment can be moved is 21 days.
- Payment plan – Customers can pay your past due balance over a set amount of time. Contact a customer service representative to apply.
- Payment extension – This service is only available to residential customers and allows you to move the due date of your bill payment.
- CHAMP – ComEd Helps Activated Military Personnel is a program that helps military families pay your bill when a member is deployed.
- LIHEAP – This service is available to low-income customers that meet the program requirements.
