How To Pay The Bill
The way you pay your MDU bill depends on the state where your service is. Various payment methods are available, including MDU online bill pay.
Pay online: For MDU online bill pay: visit Western Union Speedpay at: https://paynow7.speedpay.com/MontanaDakota/index.asp . There is a $3.95 convenience fee charged by Western Union for using this service. If you make your payment after 4 p.m. central time, your payment will be credited to your account the following business day.
Pay by phone: To make your MDU bill payment by phone, call Western Union Speedpay at 1-866-263-5185 and have your account number ready. There is a $3.95 convenience fee charged by Western Union for using this service. Customers also have the option to speak to a customer service representative by calling 1-800-638-3278 anytime between 7:30 am and 6:30pm central time to process the payment. Payments made after 4 p.m. will be credited the following business day.
Automatic deduction: Customers who wish to have their payment automatically deducted from their bank account should fill out this form with a voided check or savings account deposit slip and mail it to: Montana-Dakota Utilities Co.

Pay stations: To make a MDU payment at a drop box or payment station visit the drop box location page to determine where the closest drop box is. If you pay your bill this way, you will need to allow up to five business days for processing. For faster processing, use a paystation near you.

LIHEAP: The federal government distributes funds to all 50 states for the LIHEAP Home Energy Assistance Program. You must apply for benefits. Applicants are required to prove income before being granted benefits. This is a low-income program supporting primary heating and cooling bills.
