How the Penalty Fees Work
Century Link assesses fees for reconnection of service, late payment and returned checks. The customer service representative we spoke to informed us that some customer may be required to pay a security deposit, depending on their credit worthiness.
Reconnections fees – The fee associated with reconnecting service depends on the state. The prices range from $12 to $35.
Late payment fee – Century Link charges a 1.5% late payment fee for balances carried over past the due date.
Returned check fee – In the event your payment is returned to the bank for insufficient funds, Century Link charges a fee of $25.
I Can’t Make a Payment
When we spoke to the customer service agent concerning assistance programs, they only informed us of one, payment arrangements. Century Link offers specific guidelines associated with the arrangements.
- Account must be past the due date.
- The account must be more than 90 days old.
- Payment arrangements are for past due balances and not current amounts.
- Late fees will continue until the past due balance is paid in full.
- If the payment is not received by the predetermined date, the payment agreement is null and void.
