What to Do When You Can’t Pay Your Pacific Power Bill

Pacific Power is an electric company in the northwest United States. Service area for the company includes Oregon, Washington and California. Pacific Power has been offering electric service to customers for more than 100 years.

How to Pay the Bill

Pay online: Customers with an online account can pay your Pacific Power bill online via https://www.pacificpower.net/wum/signin.wcssn.html?cams_login_config=http&cams_original_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pacificpower.net%2Fya%2Fobp.wcss.html&cams_security_domain=system. If you don’t have an online account, you must first sign-up for account access before making a payment.

Pay by phone: Residential customers can make payment by phone through Western Union. Call 1-800-672-2403 to make a payment. Customers can pay a maximum of $600 per transaction. There is a $2.80 fee charged for each payment.

Pay at a pay station: Customers must search for a local pay station to make in-person payments. Some pay stations offer 24 hour drop boxes for late night payments. There is a fee associated with making pay station payments during regular business hours.

How the Penalty Fees Work

Pacific Power offers various options for making payments on-time. If customers do not take advantage of the available options, they could incur penalty fees, including:

  • Late payment fee: 1.5% of the amount past due is added each month payment is not made in full.
  • Deposit: Charged to customers with poor credit history or those returning to service after disconnection for non-payment.
  • Disconnection fees: Charged for collection of payment, in some cases.
  • Reconnection fees: Charged for reconnection of service after disconnection for non-payment. Prime rates may apply during off-hours, weekends and holidays.

I Can’t Make a Payment

Pacific Power offers payment plans, payment assistance and special services for customers have trouble making electric bill payment on-time. Some services are available on a state-by-state basis. Customers can reach customer service at 1-888-221-7070.Services to Pacific Power customers include:

  • Oregon HEAT: Customers can call 1-503-612-3790 to apply for the Oregon HEAT program. The program runs on charitable donations.
  • LIHEAP – All states: LIHEAP energy assistance requires customers meet federal income guidelines for assistance. LIHEAP applications are accepted at the Department of Human Services in your states. Learn how to qualify for energy assistance with LIHEAP.
  • Project HELP – Washington and California: Project HELP information can be requested from customer service at 1-888-221-7070. The project is a non-profit program operated on donated funds.
  • Bill Discounts – Washington and California: Bill discounts are available to customers eligible for LIHEAP. The program offers discounted energy costs from November to April, the coldest months.
